Pizza With A Purpose

December 21, 2017
Caulipower

In honor of the season and all you've given us this year – the praise, the recipe ideas, the pizza parties – we're giving back to your favorite charity organizations. On Facebook, we asked which nonprofits you admire, so we can send a year's supply of CAULIPOWER to fuel their volunteers and staff to continue doing good. And we were truly inspired by your thoughtful suggestions and love for your communities. Without further adieu, CAULIPOWER presents our year-end donations, hand-selected by some very CAULIPOWERFUL people - our fans! Here's to you, the tireless people working hard to make the world a better place, and to a healthy, happy 2018!

1. Harbor House

Providing a safe, empowering environment for victims of domestic abuse in Kankakee County, IL.

"It’s very hard, discouraging, and heart-wrenching work at times but they are THERE FOR victims regardless of the burden. They deserve a healthy, delicious supply of Caulipower." - Lynk M.

With a limited staff, they're still able to provide thousands of hours of service and hotline support, as well as thousands of nights of shelter, spreading a message of non-violence.

Anne Arundel County SPCA

2. Anne Arundel County SPCA

Taking care of our furry friends in need in Maryland.

"We have many hard-working volunteers working on animal welfare, safety and adoption every day in our community, and it would be great for them to have a special treat!"

- Lisa C.

This particular branch makes it easy and non-judgmental to surrender pets who need a better home, making Annapolis one of the top 40 most dog-friendly cities in the US!

3. Family House of San Francisco

Assisting Bay Area families with children being treated for serious illnesses through free, temporary housing since 1981.

The Family House is a pillar of the community because of the caring people going out of their way to make difficult times much easier. They make hospitality their mission, and it shows in the outpouring of love from the families they've helped.

In 2017 alone, more than 270 volunteer groups and 3,000 volunteers provided services to over 3,000 families! It's more than a place, it's a community that lives on long after families leave.

4. Hello Gorgeous!

Supporting self-esteem and joy in women battling cancer through a little pampering in their mobile day spas or partner salons.

The road to recovery needs stops for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation, so Hello Gorgeous "creates a red carpet ambush style makeover on women going through cancer at no cost to her." - Janice C.

Beginning with a nomination from family and friends and a surprise of flowers, chocolates, and warm "Hello, Gorgeous," they're changing the way people see themselves while they're ill, and they literally wrote the book on it.

5. El Dorado Hills Senior Center

Coordinating recreational programs and activities for adults over 50 in Eldorado Hills, CA.

In addition to all the other programs at the El Dorado Hills Community Services District, the Senior Center is inclusive and, most of all, fun. From nutritious lunches to transportation, the center has been supporting a healthy, active community since 1962.

They're special to you, so they're special to us, and we can't wait to help fuel them to do more good in 2018.
