Creamy White Cheddar Apple Sausage Pasta

We're PASTAtive this creamy, cozy white cheddar apple sausage pasta will be your new favorite fall dish!



  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 lb ground sweet Italian sausage
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 honey crisp apple, diced
  • 1 tsp sage, minced
  • 1 tsp thyme, minced
  • 1 tbsp basil, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup parmesan, grated
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Cook sausage in oil for 10 minutes until brown then transfer sausage to a bowl and set aside.
  2. In the same pan over medium heat, add the onions and 1 tbsp of butter. Sauté for 3 minutes before adding the apples and garlic. Cook for another 2 minutes then add the sausage back in and the herbs. Season with salt and pepper then set aside.
  3. Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook CAULIPOWER Elbows Pasta for 3 minutes. Save 1 cup of pasta water before straining.
  4. In a pan over medium heat, add the remaining 2 tbsp butter, heavy cream, whole milk, white cheddar, parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, white pepper, and salt and whisk together for 3-5 minutes to thicken.
  5. Add in cooked pasta and sausage apple mixture. Toss the pasta, season to taste with more salt and pepper, and add 1 tbsp reserved pasta water at a time to reach designed sauce consistency. Serve warm with extra fresh herbs on top!
